The archive at UW holding the Dorothy Bullitt Papers collection had a wealth of information that I have just barely started to review. I got a lot of chuckles listening to some records today... but I also experienced some somber moments. The photo is a handwritten and mailed note written to Dorothy Bullitt informing her that her friend had died. The paper felt fancy- I saw that it was an Eaton brand card. Helene Platt who was probably close with Gloria later in life (I get the sense that Gloria ended up settling in Portland late in her career and the relationship with Dorothy grew apart) wrote a touching note. On the front of the envelope is 2 worda in pencil in Dorothy’s handwriting: Gloria died.
