October 14th 1976 of the New York Times, the article is an ad promoting a rummage sale which is higlighted by 127 hats that were owned by the late Gloria Chandler a “local TV personality”. It is mentioned that she was “known for her hats” and mentioned there were several original pieces from high end fashion names like Dior and a couple others. In a way I think it simplifies her life, but also in a literary way, the fact that she “wore many hats” and did extraordinary things is interesting. The sale was approximately 2 months after her death and funds went to benefit Orthopedic. This posthumous mention that Gloria was known for her hats and had a sizeable collection is an interesting insight I never would have guessed about her personal life, and also shows her appreciation for high-end fashion.
